Dale Frank Stanek

Dale Frank Stanek, 82, of Kimball, SD passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD. A private family Graveside Service will take place at St. Margaret’s Catholic Cemetery in Kimball. The family requests no flowers at this time, a Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held at a later date.

Dale Frank Stanek was born on August 26, 1938 to Stanley James and Christine Marie (Kejsar) Stanek in Mitchell, SD. He graduated from Kimball High School in 1956 and went on to work for Midstate Communications for 44 years. On June 21, 1958 Dale was united in marriage to Avis Elaine Thomas at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Kimball.

Dale was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Kimball Fire and Ambulance, Knights of Columbus, and Jaycees. He also served on various boards including: The Tractor Museum, Lake 16 Golf Club, St. Margaret's Church, Kimball School, Kimball City Council, and Kimball Fire and Ambulance. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and golfing.

Grateful for having shared in Dale’s life is his wife of over 62 years, Elaine Stanek of Kimball, SD. To this union five daughters were born.

Dale is survived by his wife, Elaine, and his daughters: Carla (Eugene) Ptacek of Alexandria, MN, Reta (Joe) Pazour of Pukwana, SD, Pamela (Treon) Fleury of Chamberlain, SD, Jody (Mick) Baruth of Sioux Falls, SD and Julie (Jim) Anderson of Chamberlain, SD; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two brothers: Ken (Mary) Stanek and Don (Eilene) Stanek; along with many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by: his parents, Stanley and Christine Stanek; and two brothers: Roy (Margaret) Stanek and Dwayne (Carmen) Stanek.
